Located in the Hudson Valley two hours north of New York City, Bard has established a reputation for excellence in undergraduate teaching, outstanding programs in the arts, and innovative educational programs such as the Bard Prison Initiative and the Clemente Course in the Humanities. Our institutional goals lead us to seek candidates who are passionate teachers excited to share their love of philosophy with a diverse student body. Our program is pluralistic and emphasizes historical approaches to philosophy, dialogue between philosophical traditions, and connections between philosophy and other disciplines. Successful candidates will also be innovative researchers who are responsive to major challenges facing the field of philosophy today.

  • Cover letter
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Writing sample
  • Teaching and research statements
  • Sample syllabi
