The Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University invites applications for a tenure track appointment to begin as early as Fall 2019.
AOS: Ethics and International Affairs AOC: Ethics and International Affairs Description: The successful applicant will teach graduate and undergraduate courses on ethics and international affairs, including discussions of practical events and ethical challenges as they unfold in a broad range of substantive areas of international affairs; conduct research, produce scholarship and policy analysis in ethics and international affairs; and engage with the broader academic and policy communities. This appointment is at the assistant or associate professor level and will be affiliated with the Elliott School’s Leadership, Ethics and Practice initiative. The successful candidate will also have an appointment either in the Political Science or Philosophy Department. Salary and rank are commensurate with experience. Minimum qualifications: Applicants must have a doctorate in philosophy or political science (or a relevant disciplinary or interdisciplinary field) at time of appointment. Applicants should have a promising research agenda as demonstrated by publications, presentations or works in progress; promise of excellence in teaching as demonstrated by student evaluations, peer reviews, or supervisor’s comments; and an interest in policy issues demonstrated by a teaching and research statement, publications or presentations that will support the mission of the Leadership, Ethics and Practice initiative and the Elliott School.
