About the City College of New York 
For over 175 years, The City College of New York has provided low-cost, high-quality education for New Yorkers in a wide variety of disciplines. The City College of New York has produced ten Nobel laureates. 

Position Details 
The Department of Philosophy at The City College of New York (CCNY) of the City University of New York (CUNY) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, anticipated to begin in Fall 2026. The position will involve research and teaching introductory-level undergraduate courses as well as elective courses in the applicant’s area of expertise. 

Area of Specialization: 
Candidates' AOS must include at least one of these three: 
(a) philosophy of cognitive science; 
(b) ethics (but not Kantian or biomedical ethics); 
(c) social/political philosophy, preferably with a historical background. 

Area of Competence: Candidates must be prepared to develop and teach a course in AI, Ethics, and Society. 

QUALIFICATIONS 
Ph.D. in Philosophy 

Preferred Qualification: 
Evidence of teaching and research excellence. 
Candidates must be legally authorized to work full-time in the United States. 

COMPENSATION 
Salary Range: $76,937 - $94,909
