Open Rank Professor and assistant professor positions in ethics or social/political/legal philosophy at UC Santa Barbara

The Department of Philosophy invites applications for two positions in Ethics or Social/Political/Legal Philosophy
  • Applicants for the Open Rank Professor position should apply to JPF01564, http://recruit.ap.ucsb.edu/apply/JPF01564. We invite applicants at the assistant, associate, and full levels. A complete application will include a letter of application, CV, writing sample, and at least three letters of recommendation. Applicants at the assistant level should also submit a dissertation abstract or research statement, teaching statement, and evidence of teaching excellence.
  • Applicants for the Tenure Track Assistant Professor position should apply to JPF01591, http://recruit.ap.ucsb.edu/apply/JPF01591. We invite applicants at the assistant level. A complete application will include a letter of application, CV, writing sample, a dissertation abstract or research statement, evidence of teaching excellence, and at least three letters of recommendation.

The minimum requirement to be considered an applicant is the completion of all requirements for a PhD in Philosophy or a related field (or equivalent degree) except the dissertation (or equivalent) at the time of application. We invite applicants who already have a PhD as well.

To ensure full and primary consideration, all application materials must be received by November 4,
2019. The position will remain open until filled.

For your letters of recommendation you will be asked to submit the names and email addresses of
your references. The online system will then contact your references with instructions about how to
upload their letters. All application materials should be in a standard electronic form, preferably pdf.
